Special Recognition for UIC RN to BSN Students, Faculty, and Staff
As you consider your future educational plans, we thought you might like to know how proud the UIC online RN to BSN program is to report our students, faculty, and staff have been recognized for excellence in their areas of practice and service by the College of Nursing.
RN to BSN graduating senior Kristin Krogmeier received the Cardew Mullane Award for Leadership and Clinical Excellence. The award was originally established by Emily Cardew, the first dean of the College of Nursing, and was later endowed by Dean Mary Kelly Mullane.
Kristin is being recognized for academic achievement, and for competence, innovation, and advocacy in her nursing practice at a rural family health clinic. Kristin received her associate’s degree from Illinois Central College.
The UIC College of Nursing Alumni Board Award Committee selects the Cardew Mullane award recipient each year, and the award was presented to Kristin at our recent UIC College of Nursing graduation ceremony.
RN to BSN instructor Theresa Williams, MBA, MSN, MEd, RN, has been awarded the 2016 UIC Silver Circle Teaching Excellence Award for the College of Nursing. Graduating nursing students select the award recipient each year.
Theresa, a Process Manager at Humana, Inc., has been teaching in the RN to BSN program since 2008 and has expertise in nursing informatics; nursing research and evidence-based practice; and leadership and management in nursing.
RN to BSN Retention Specialist Jessica Fogarty has again been awarded an Undergraduate Award for Staff Excellence. 2016 marks the fourth time Jessica has been chosen for this award by graduating RN to BSN students. Jessica has been at UIC for five years and has a BA in psychology and an MEd in Community Counseling.
